Christopher Nolan’s Tenet will receive an IMAX prologue

Christopher Nolan loves IMAX and IMAX loves Christopher Nolan.

Christopher Nolan has been using IMAX cameras for small portions of filming starting with The Dark Knight and he’s moved up to shooting the majority of certain movies with them. IMAX has been good to him too. Interstellar and Dunkirk were movies that greatly benefited from the increased size and scope that it allowed Nolan to bring with the format.

Nolan has released prologues for a few of his films that were shot in IMAX, most notably has to have been The Dark Knight Rises. This introduced the world to Tom Hardy’s Bane and the voice that would launch a hundred impressions. It definitely added excitement for the already hyped launch of the third film in Nolan’s Bat trilogy and he also had a special look trailer with his most recent film, Dunkirk. He is following the pattern and his upcoming film, Tenet, will receive the same treatment. This prologue will hopefully give potential moviegoers a better idea of what Tenet will be about outside of the description of being an action thriller set in the world of international espionage.

The prologue is likely to be paired with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, you know just in case you needed another reason to check out the last episode in the Skywalker saga.

Tenet is set to release July 17, 2020
