Darth Vader may appear in the Han Solo movie

You know about the Han Solo movie, right? The one that seemed like a joke at first, until Disney announced the casting. The one that got Chris Miller and Phil Lord to direct, only to fire them at the end of production because they were creating a Star Wars movie with unique flair. The one where Ron Howard was brought in last minute to direct. Where lead actor Alden Ehrenreich's ability was so poor that Disney brought in an acting coach to help him out. Yeah, you know about...that movie.

Well strap in, because now there's more news on that movie in regards to the casting.

Spencer Wilding, the actor who played Darth Vader in last years Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, has joined the cast of the untitled Han Solo movie. According to StarWarsNewsNet, the actor would not be attending Fandomfest in Louisville, Kentucky, due to a scheduling conflict. That conflict being the filming of the newest film in the Star Wars universe.

To some, this reads as a clear indication that Darth Vader will appear in the Han Solo movie. I am one of those people. To be clear, Wilding has played several small parts in big-buget blockbusters over the years, including Mean Guard in Guardians of the Galaxy, and Falque from Jupiter Ascending. However, it's incredibly suspicious that Disney would elevate an actor to play such an iconic role, only to then have him play a comparatively insignificant role in the next film. We'll be waiting for an official announcement from Disney themselves, but, c'mon. We all know where this is headed.

Now, the question arises: Why does Darth Vader need to keep appearing in everything Star Wars? To be sure, Darth Vader is one of the most iconic characters of all time. Yet lazily plastering his image onto every film, coffee mug and lunchbox is a one way ticket to devaluing how much people actually care about seeing Darth Vader. Find something else to milk. It could be Darth Vader's older brother, 2 Darth 2 Vaderous, I don't care. Please stop putting Darth Vader in stuff, before it's too late.
