Details on Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel

Fox Searchlight may release film at the end of the year

Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom was our pick for the best comedy of 2012. Anderson's latest film, The Grand Budapest Hotel, is another period piece and it may lead to back-to-back Golden Pterodactyls for best comedy. Fox Searchlight has picked up worldwide rights to the film, which recently finished production in Berlin, and is considering a late 2013 release.

Here's the official Fox Searchlight synopsis for The Grand Budapest Hotel:

The Grand Budapest Hotel tells of a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars and his friendship with a young employee who becomes his trusted protégé. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting, the battle for an enormous family fortune and the slow and then sudden upheavals that transformed Europe during the first half of the 20th century.

As The Film Stage points out, The Grand Budapest Hotel has one hell of an ensemble cast: Ralph Fiennes, Edward Norton, Owen Wilson, Tilda Swinton, Jude Law, Bill Murray, Adrien Brody, Harvey Keitel, Jason Schwartzman, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Saoirse Ronan, Mathieu Amalric, F Murray Abraham, Bob Balaban, Tom Wilkinson, and Tony Revolori.

More details to come. What do you think of this cast and the plot?
