Director James Gunn says Guardians of the Galaxy will be a trilogy

But never fear, they'll remake in a year

At the Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 premiere, Director James Gunn, who was confirmed earlier this week to be returning to helm Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3, indicated that GoTG would be a trilogy, at least in its current iteration. It's unclear what that means for the future of the franchise, though one can assume he means with the current cast and his nimble touch at the wheel. No promises on remakes, spinoffs, or darker reimaginings--all are fair game in the current environment.

Since Vol. 1 proved such an unexpected joy, and current trailers seem to indicate more of the same for Vol. 2, we're excited to say the least. And for reals, that won't be your last helping of Chris Pratt as Star Lord or the rest of his merry band; look for them all in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War films.
