Disenchantment returns to Netflix for part two this September

Netflix has confirmed that Disenchantment, a fantasy comedy by Simpsons creator Matt Groening, will be returning to the streaming juggernaut on September 20, 2019. Not an entire season, this will be part two of what premiered last year in August. It will contain another 10 episodes to create a full 20 episode season, the same amount that the already confirmed second season will have.

As for whether or not you should watch it, I don't have much of an opinion. I checked out the first episode and clearly didn't understand what Groening was going for. While I'm happy he is able to step out of simply doing Simpsons episodes for the rest of his life, lackluster work shouldn't get a pass just because of the creator's pedigree. Futurama proved Groening is able to tackle a show that isn't strictly about domestic family living, so maybe Disenchantment can work. We'll just have to wait and see.
