Disney breaks its own all-time box office record

Did you know that Disney held the all-time box office record? In 2010 they made $3.79 billion. They still hold the record, it’s just more now. This year they’ve officially made $3.79 billion, and they still have the holiday season coming to make more.

How did they break their own record? Superheroes, Pixar and the Wizard of Oz. Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World obviously brought in the cash and they were helped by Monsters University and Oz the Great and Powerful. Clearly the know how to get people to buy movie tickets, and they’ve still got Frozen and Saving Mr. Banks. I can only imagine all the people in the board room of Disney high fiving like maniacs.

Of course they’ll probably break this record in 2015 when they not only release the next Avengers movie, but also a new Star Wars film. Seriously, we should just count out every other studio in the contest from here on out.
