Disney working on live-action The Lion King remake

As pretty much everyone guessed after seeing Jon Favreau's technical marvel, The Jungle Book, Disney is indeed moving forward with a live-action adaptation of the animated classic, The Lion King

Confirming on their website, Disney plans to fast track a live-action version of the classic using much of the same technology seen in The Jungle Book. And since he did so well with that, Jon Favreau is set to direct the new Lion King also. I know Disney's live-action "re-imaginings" seemed like a bad idea at first, but after Maleficent, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, Pete's Dragon and now Beauty and the Beast seem like successful adaptations, I'm sure this will be too. Like the right mix of old and new, it's the perfect kind of film right now.

I'm just not sure how it will all work since The Lion King doesn't have someone who could be a live-action anchor (like Mowgli) in a CG world. Either way, it's gonna look so good.
