Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho adds some new faces

Edgar Wright might be my favorite director working today. His sense of humor and layered shots in his movies are so well constructed that rewatches are a necessity. He has cast Thomasin McKenzie from Leave No Trace and Matt Smith from The Crown and of course Doctor Who in his new movie Last Night in Soho. They join Anya Taylor-Joy of Split and The Witch fame in this newest film from the Baby Driver director. This talented cast could be the beginning of a beautiful horror film.

Details about the plot of the movie are extremely vague with all that is known it is that it is a psychological horror set in London’s Soho district. If you have seen Shaun of the Dead or his fake trailer for Don’t! then you know that Wright is no stranger to the horror genre and neither is Penny Dreadful writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns, who is co-writing the script with Wright. I’m interested to see what Wright’s love of horror-comedy and Wilson-Cairns’ experience with gothic horror can bring to the big screen.

This will be a joint effort between Working Title, Focus Features, and Film4
