First trailer for 'Odd Thomas' starring Anton Yelchin

Stephen Sommers' film adaptation of Dean Koontz's 2003 novel Odd Thomas is due to hit theaters next month, and, by the looks of this first trailer, it's going to be a spooky ride. The film tells the story of young fry-cook Odd and his ability to communicate with the dead. When Odd's macabre power plunges him into a battle of good vs. evil, he must fight alongside his girlfriend, Stormy (Addison Timlin), and a local sheriff (Willem Dafoe) to save the world from certain destruction.

Anton Yelchin is an American treasure as far as I'm concerned and Odd Thomas looks to be a fun adventure plot-wise. We'll just have to wait and see how Sommers' sometime's goofy directing style (The MummyVan Helsing) handles the material.

Odd Thomas opens February 28th.
