Flix for Short: StormJumper

StormJumper (2014) from Malcolm Sutherland on Vimeo.

In StormJumper, an alien shaman attempts to use meditation and magic to escape from an annihilating planetary storm. I totally love everything about the visual style of StormJumper, from the character design to the color pallet of the world(s). StormJumper was created by artist Malcolm Sutherland, and we've actually featured his animation work on Flixist before, so I guess it's not a surprise that I love his new short.

The only thing that bothers me about StormJumper is that it feels too short, like the narrative is almost too simple. Maybe I just like the character and setting so much that I want it to stick around longer. And I'm just going to throw this out there, how awesome would a StormJumper videogame be?! Anyway, for more of Sutherland's work, check out his vimeo page.
