Guy Ritchie is going back to his English roots

You know, fish, chips, cup o' tea

Fans of Guy Ritchie's early works, rejoice. The acclaimed director is taking things back to the gritty streets of Jolly Ol' in Toff Guys, a movie centered around a druglord and fast-talking Brits set to be shown at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.  Written by Ritchie, Marn Davies, and Ivan Atkinson, the early synopsis focuses on an aging kingpin ready to sell off his not-quite-legal empire to an interested group of Oklahoma billionaires.

It's been a mixed bag for Ritchie in regards to critics and box office success since his early films. After breaking through with the likes of Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, and Snatch, Ritchie went on to direct big budget films including the Sherlock Holmes franchise, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., and King Arthur. He's got another major film due out next year in the live-action adaptation of Aladin, which if previous live-action Disney remakes are anything to base speculation off of, will be a big hit.
