Hans Zimmer will be taking over the score for No Time to Die

The 'ol switcheroo

In a post-production shift of duties, it's been revealed that acclaimed and prolific composer Hans Zimmer will be stepping in to score the latest Bond film, No Time to Die, replacing Dan Romer as composer for the upcoming spy spectacle.

Romer, who previously worked with Bond director Cary Joji Fukunaga on Beasts of No Nation and Maniac for Netflix, is said to have left the project over "creative differences." Vague reasoning aside, Hans Zimmer has be confirmed to be taking over the project, bringing another tremendous name to the already massive production.

Zimmer won an Academy Award for his work on the original Lion King back in 1995, and has continued to work with high-profile collaborators like Christopher Nolan and Ron Howard, with 2020 looking to be a particularly busy year for the composer.

Currently, Zimmer is also working on The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, Wonder Woman 1984, Top Gun: Maverick (with Harold Faltermeyer), and Dune, all scheduled for release this year. The full slate has led to speculation that Zimmer may collaborate on No Time to Die's score, though any details are purely speculative.

With an April 10 release date just months away, Zimmer will no doubt be shifting focus for the moment to get Bond wrapped up.
