Harrison Ford says Blade Runner 2 script is the best thing he's ever read

Or so Ridley Scott says.

I think we can all agree that Blade Runner is an incredible film. I think we can also agree that it probably doesn't need a sequel. But a sequel is probably going to be made anyway, so all we can hope is that it will do the original justice, as unlikely as that may be.

So here's some news that verges on being exciting: Harrison Ford has read director Ridley Scott's script for the sequel, and he is impressed. Like, really impressed. Seriously super impressed. "Wow, this is the best thing I've ever read" impressed. The slight caveat there is that he said that not to some publication but to Scott himself, and it was Scott who decided to tell everyone else how impressed he (Ford) is. So perhaps we should take this with a grain of salt, but you know what? I want to believe this is true. I don't want a Blade Runner sequel to be bad; I just expect it to be. But if Ridley Scott can pull it off, I'll be happy to admit I was wrong.
