Harry Styles being eyed to play Prince Eric

Looks like our new Ariel may have found her Prince in the upcoming film

Looks like Ariel may have found her leading man. Harry Styles is set to play Prince Eric in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. The newest installment of Disney's remake craze now has announced two of the titular characters. Ariel is to be played by Halle Bailey and Styles is Prince Eric. While we may not see him right now as Eric, he definitely can sing so that's important.

Although we never hear Prince Eric sing in the original film, his character did perform in the Broadway production of The Little Mermaid. You can almost be sure those songs will be included in the new film. One Direction fans will most certainly flock to see this film now that Styles will be involved. Production is set to begin next year and more casting news is sure to follow, so stay tuned right here on Flixist!
