John C. Reilly confirmed for Guardians of the Galaxy

John C. Reilly has officially been announced as Rhomann Dey in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy. Dey is the the leader of the Nova Corp and the one who comes to earth and gives Nova/Richard Rider, reaffirming that the Nova Crop, if not Nova himself, will be pretty heavily featured in this film (or setting up other films where it will be). It’s still uncanny how little in known about the overall gist of the film, especially in the leak heavy world we live in.

As for the character of Rhomann Dey, I can’t speak as he’s pretty obscure for this non-comic reader, but he’s being referred to as “the Agent Coulson of the Guardians movies.” I’m going to guess that Reilly is a fantastic choice, though judging from the images of the character he may need to put some muscle on. As for the Nova/Richard Rider angle my guess is that they’re going to make Rhomann Dey a combination of his actual character and Nova or they will eventually kill off Dey and launch a Nova film. Stranger things have happened.
