Keri Russell on board for Star Wars: Episode IX

Production on Episode IX begins next month

Keri Russell, well know for her role as Elizabeth Jennings on FX's The Americans, is in talks with J.J. Abrams to come aboard for Star Wars: Episode IX.

According to Variety, Abrams and other Lucasfilm executives met with many actresses over the past couple months before deciding that Russell would be their choice for the yet unnamed role. There's no information to go on as far as who Russell will be playing - a rebel soldier, member of the empire, or CGI alien-thing.

Casting for the next Star Wars isn't over yet either. Production on Episode IX begins next month, but Abrams is still searching for a few more actors in key roles. Only time will tell who will be cast for the final installment in the new Star Wars trilogy.
