By The 1995 Rob Schnieder vehicle Judge Dredd is a guilty pleasure of mine, so I’m notably excited for the upcoming Judge Dredd starring Karl Urban as the titular Megacity One Judge. I just got a little more excited when I learned that Lena Headly, star of the over-to-soon Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicle, has been cast as the film’s primary villain.
She will be playing Ma-Ma, a scarred gang leader in the Peach Tree City Block, which is ostensibly where most of the film will be set. Lena Headly is a woman that knows how to bring the badass, so this is definitely a positive for the film.
That said, she’s no Armand Assante.
