Looks like we got some waiting to do on Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead

He did drop some additional details, though

Army of the Dead, Zack Snyder's Netflix zombie heist film is officially beginning its slow drip-feed of  details as the film shuffles toward release. The first juicy chunk of information? A release window--slated for "next winter," according to Snyder. That's kind of a long wait. Also, it's a weird window. Releasing a zombie action flick in winter? Why? This has summer or at least October energy. Winter is usually reserved for awards flicks or garbage no one cares about. Army of the Dead appears to be neither of these things.

Snyder also offered a few more plot details, and this is sounding more and more like the Dead Rising film adaptation that goofy game series should have gotten. Snyder reiterated that the film takes place in Las Vegas while offering a little more color. "A zombie plague hits Vegas, and they’re able to contain the virus to the city. They build a wall out of shipping containers. And then the city falls. And six years later, one of the casino owners hires this group of zombie soldiers to go get his money that he left in a safe in the casino." Sounds cool to me.

Army of the Dead stars Dave Bautista and will hopefully be a strong return to form for a director who cut his teeth on a stellar remake of Dawn of the Dead. I look forward to seeing Snyder fix his gaze on the undead once again.
