By Michael Rooker. Rooker’s worked with James Gunn before on Slither and he’s had quite a boom recently with being one of the best characters on The Walking Dead, so this doesn’t come as a real surprise. What is a surprise, however, is his character.
Joing Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord, Bautista’s Drax, and Zoe Saldana’s Gamora, is Michael Rooker as Yondu. Who’s Yondu? Yondu is an alien from a mystical tribe, who uses a bow and arrow, and was one of the founding members of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Although he hasn’t been announced as part of the film’s lineup, it’s safe to assume he’s going to be part of the team in some capacity now that a big gun like Rooker is cast. Seriously, you can’t just cast a guy like Rooker and expect him to sit quietly on the sidelines. Wonder if they’ll still paint him blue? At least it’ll beat all of the [Walking Dead spoiler redacted].
