New Releases, week of 12/7/13: Sequelitis Edition

The Wolverine, The Smurfs 2, Drinking Buddies and more on DVD/Blu-ray

This week's home video releases involve two big sequels: one revered, one reviled. The Wolverine (and subsequently a re-release of the entire X-Men series so far) hits DVD and Blu-ray while the less said about The Smurfs 2, the better. It'll probably go on to sell more than Wolverine, sadly. Other notable hits include Drinking Buddies (and read Geoff's awesome interview with the cast), which I still want to see, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (which is probably the first and last one of its series due to low box office performance), and season sixteen of The Simpsons is finally available!

In re-releases we have an extended version of Argo for some reason, a re-release of Anchorman to hype its sequel, and The Hangover Trilogy gets a complete set for some reason. The two Criterion releases (Nashville and Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion) make it all the better, however.

I've been listening to a lot of Marina and the Diamonds lately, so today's videos are all reflective of that. Hit the jump for the notable home video releases this week.
