New trailer for The French Dispatch looks to channel Wes Anderson's love of nostalgia

In short, the picture was a sensation

I got about halfway through the brand new trailer for Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch before halting myself, realizing I'm far beyond the point of needing to be sold on a movie by a trailer--let alone a new Wes Anderson movie. But goodness, does this film look gorgeous.

Functioning as an anthology of disparate stories set amidst Anderson's typically-whimsical 20th century Europe, The French Dispatch features the director's typically-neat camerawork, with some of the shots in this trailer looks like paintings, plain and simple. A notch in cinematographer Robert Yeoman's belt for sure. With frequent Anderson collaborator Alexandre Desplat back to score the film, the gang is certainly all here.

And it wouldn't be a Wes Anderson film without a cavalcade of recognizable faces. Benicio del Toro, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Léa Seydoux, Frances McDormand, Timothée Chalamet, Lyna Khoudri, Jeffrey Wright, Mathieu Amalric, Stephen Park, Bill Murray and Owen Wilson all make appearances.

Distributer Searchlight Pictures (formerly Fox Searchlight) has seen fit to release a slew of stills, and a first poster for The French Dispatch, which is set to hit theaters July 24.
