New trailer for The Irishman has the makings of an epic

It's gonna happen. Either way, he's goin'.

Yeah, this looks terrific. Hot off the presses from Netflix is a new, expansive trailer for Martin Scorsese's long-cooking mob epic The Irishman, narrowing in on the story of the man who allegedly killed Jimmy Hoffa.

Frank Sheeran (Robert DeNiro) was a mob jack-of-all-trades, executing hits and doing rough stuff for the gangs like the Bufalino family, headed by Russell Bufalino (Joe Pesci). Jimmy Hoffa's (Al Pacino) involvement with labor unions eventually rubs up against mob interests, putting Sheeran at a crossroads.

The huge names are enough to get any cinephile's attention, but Scorsese's film looks to capture the Americana corruption and vice that he's made such a terrific career on, with the intersection of politics and gangsterism a natural theme in the Hoffa story.

Clocking in at three and a half hours long, The Irishman certainly looks to span the decades and use its massive cast. Besides the aforementioned "big three" leads, you've got Harvey Keitel, Bobby Cannavale, Anna Paquin, Kathrine Narducci, and Ray Romano, as well as many more, bringing the story to life. Scorsese reunites with cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto (The Wolf of Wall Street, Silence) and long-time, genius editor Thelma Schoonmaker.

After its New York Film Festival premiere tomorrow, September 27th, Netflix looks to release The Irishman theatrically November 1st, after which it will be available to stream on November 27th. Don't fuggedaboutit.
