No Time To Die's Chinese premiere gets canceled over fears of coronavirus

The name doesn't help its case

Fears over the coroniavirus epidemic have caused Eon Productions and MGM to cancel the Beijing premiere of No Time To Die, the latest installment of the James Bond series. With many theaters and business closed down to stop the spread of this disease, it seems MGM didn't want to risk getting anyone infected simply to release a film. The name couldn't have helped, either.

Bond is just the latest in a swath of films that have had openings canceled in the country. Basically everything releasing this month and next is getting pushed back to an unknown date. Hollywood is probably very worried as China has become one of the most important markets. That goes double for Bond as China is the franchise's second largest market.

It's more important to protect people, though. If No Time To Die simply has to wait, then so be it.
