NYC: The Brooklyn Horror Film Festival starts next week (October 14-16)

The inaugural horror fest in Brooklyn

The inaugural Brooklyn Horror Film Festival starts next Friday, October 14th. The BHFF will screen more than a dozen features and 25 shorts, with additional events going on through the weekend, including Grady Hendrix's one-man show Summerland Lost and live music by Johnny Butler & Dani Mari inspired by Dario Argento's Mothers Trilogy (Suspiria, Inferno, Mother of Tears).

The opening night film is Mattie Do's Dearest Sister (Laos, France, Estonia; East Coast Premiere), the centerpiece film is Emiliano Rocha Minter's We Are the Flesh (Mexico; East Coast Premiere), and the closing night film is Erlingur Thoroddsen's Child Eater (USA, Iceland; World Premiere).

The BHFF will run all of next weekend, with films and events held at various venues throughout Williamsburg, Greenpoint, and Bushwick. Flixist will be covering several of the films and events at BHFF. Look for reviews of select films playing at BHFF and recaps of festivals events starting next week.
