Paramount building a Transformers writers room

0

More than meets the I, Robot

Paramount are bringing in Akiva Goldsman to head up a writers room developing future Transformers movies, including multi-part sequels, and spin offs. The last one was terrible, the next one will be too, but the fascinating car crash that is the incredible success of the Transformers movies is going to be slowly unfolding in front of our eyes for years and years to come.

This news is, however, tangible confirmation that future Transformers movies will in fact be written, whereas previous entries to the franchise were created by a machine that generated scripts via surgical link to Michael Bay's id. Somewhere, a writer types out "OPTIMUS PRIME (VO)" into Final Draft, and thinks for a moment about the what it truly means to create art in a capitalist society, before pushing the thought to the back of their mind.

"Let them eat Transformers," a Paramount executive was not quoted as saying today, because that would be silly.
