Paramount seeks to grab new Terminator rights

Paramount seems to be on a hot streak recently with the grabbing of all these new movie rights. Next on their lineup, Paramount is in negotiations currently to have the distribution rights for the next Terminator. This newest one is being produced by David Ellison’s Skydance Productions and Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures.

With regards to the new Terminator project, Skydance and Annapurna had hired Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry) to write the screenplay. Originally, director Justin Lin (Fast and Furious series) was attached to the project, but he left to continue his work on Fast and Furious 6.

This would be the fifth Terminator movie, and production on it could be starting soon as long as the Ellison siblings obtain a director. Hopefully Arnold Schwarzenegger makes a return for this and not a CGI Arnold.
