Paul Giamatti, John Goodman and others join the Ratchet and Clank movie

It has been two years since Sony announced their plans to make an animated movie based on the immensely popular series of PlayStation games, Ratchet & Clank, and today we learned that Paul Giamatti, John Goodman, Sylvester Stallone, Bella Thorne and Rosario Dawson will lend their voices to the project.

The Hollywood faces will co-star with the cast of the games, as James Arnold Taylor (Ratchet), David Kaye (Clank), Armin Shimerman (Nefarious) and Jim Ward (Captain Qwark) will reprise their roles. The movie will re-tell the story from the first game in the series (released in 2002), but not without a few alterations. It’s been a few years since I played the first three games, but I don’t think our dear Dr. Nefarious appears until the third one. However, he’s such a cool recurring villain that I don’t mind having him around.

I think the new additions to the cast will fit perfectly within this world, especially Goodman and Stallone, and it will be very exciting to see who they’ll play. The movie is scheduled to premiere later this year.
