Psych 2: Lassie Come Home will premiere alongside Peacock’s launch on July 15

NBCUniversal announced today that Psych 2: Lassie Come Home will be premiering alongside the launch of its streaming service Peacock. On track for a July 15 launch date, I honestly forgot it even suffered a delay. I thought it had already taken off and people were just disinterested.

If Psych isn’t your thing (what are you, boring?), a number of different shows will also be premiering on that same day. I wasn’t aware that the “classic” novel Brave New World was getting an adaptation, but that will be primed to go for launch. It will feature Solo star Alden Ehrenreich as John Savage, which sounds like all kinds of awful.

As well as a butchering of “classic” literature, Peacock will have UK conspiracy thriller The Capture, workplace comedy Intelligence, two different sports documentaries in Lost Speedways and In Deep With Ryan Lochte, and a few children’s programs. I’m not sure why Curious George sounds the most appealing to me, but I guess my inner child is just bored of all this modern crap.

Anyway, it seems NBC isn’t pulling any punches when it comes to kicking off its streaming service. I don’t know how successful this venture will be, but it is bound to go off better than Quibi.
