Resident Evil: The Final Chapter gets first trailer

Is that a triple barrel shotgun?

If you had told me that back in 2002 the Resident Evil movie -- a fun enough action horror flick -- would spawn one of the longer running and relatively successful action series in cinematic history I would have cut you up with my newly constructed hallway of lasers for lying. That might have been an overeaction and obviously I would have been wrong because here we are 6(!) movies later with the trailer Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.

It looks a lot like the previous films, honestly, and that makes it hard to tell if it will be good or not. The series has been hit and miss with some fills being downright awful, others standing out and others just being oddly fun. Director and writer of the entire series Paul W S Anderson is returning for this final chapter, which I doubt will actually be the final chapter in reality. It's probably the last time we'll see Milla Jovovich as Alice and Ali Larter as Claire Redfield, though.

Other than that here's the plot that involves monsters and Wesker being a jerk and below find the poster which involves Alice looking all Hunger Games.

Picking up immediately after the events inResident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.

In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.
