Samuel L. Jackson is one bad movie grosser says Guinness

The Guinness Book of World Records has named Samuel L. Jackson the highest-grossing actor of all time. The movies he's appeared in have made a staggering $7.42 billion. This is approximately 4.94 million bad mother f**ker wallets worth of money. In related news, Billy Mitchell has expressed interest in an acting career.

Since 1972, Jackson has appeared in more than 100 films. Three of those movies are among the 50 highest-grossing of all time: The Phantom Menace, Jurassic Park, and Revenge of the Sith. Since 2002, five movies he’s appeared in have been among the top 10 earners of their respective years. (The tally is six if Thor remains a big kahuna.)

In ascending order, the previous top five highest-grossing actors were Tom Cruise, Robin Williams, Harrison Ford, Eddie Murphy, and Tom Hanks. Jackson's world-record status is a testament to his work ethic. He told CBS News earlier in the month:

I grew up in a working class family. When I was a kid, all the adults in my house got up and went to work every day. I assumed that's what grown people do. That's what I do. I just happen to have a very interesting job that's kind of cool!

Seriously, what a mensch.
