Sony producing a live action/CG Sonic the Hedgehog movie

It took so much effort not to put a photo of "Sanic" here.

You know how Sega seems to think Sonic the Hedgehog is still cool? Branching into Nintendo games, that Sonic Boom cartoon, and now thanks to Sony, Sonic the Hedgehog is getting a film adaptation. According to THR, Sony (who has experience with live action/CG blue things) is teaming up with Marza Animation Planet for a live action/CG mix and will most likely involve popular Sonic characters (but not Big the Cat because lol).

The oddest thing about this announcement? This statement from Marza CEO, Masanao Maeda:

Sonic has had dozens of adventures on the console and the small screen, and we're thrilled that he's now coming to the big screen. Sony Pictures has had great success with hybrid animated and live-action features, and we're confident that this collaboration will bring a fresh take to Sonic, while still capturing everything that the fans love about him

Haha, Sega thinks Sonic still has fans. We'll bring you more info as it unfolds.
