Spider-Man: Far From Home release date reportedly pushed up three days

0

The first MCU Phase 4 film will be out before 4th of July

Those anticipating the first post-Avengers: Endgame MCU film won't have to wait that long—according to ScreenRant, Spider-Man: Far From Home will be in theaters by July 2, three days earlier than originally scheduled. The film will be the second full solo MCU film with Peter Parker (Tom Holland), who is very much alive and definitely not a pile of dust.

Those in the States are used to movies releasing on Fridays, with wide screenings beginning on the Thursday night before. The original release date was July 5, so it's a bit surprising to me that they wouldn't keep that date as families would likely watch the movie on the 4th of July holiday. Who exactly will want to watch this film in theaters before their long weekend?

Still, it isn't a tactic unusual for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. High anticipation for Avengers: Infinity War led the film to being pushed up a full week. A year later, Avengers: Endgame would follow suit, with its release scheduled for April 26 instead of its original release date of May 3. Curiously, Sony hasn't officially announced the release date change as of yet.

Spider-Man: Far From Home depicts Peter Parker (who is alive), whose vacation in a totally-not-desolate Europe is interrupted by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), two characters who are also totally alive. Parker will fight off against the Elementals and encounter Mysterio, a fishbowl man played by Jake Gyllenhaal. Be sure to check out the trailer here and a poster that was probably straight out of the Italian tourism bureau.
