Spider-Man sequel goes across the atlantic

Let's get a pint and have laugh mate

Infinity War is nearly here, and don't you worry, it's good. But before that colossal superhero showdown hits theaters, you might be wondering how Spider-Man will fare in all of that chaos and destruction.

If today's news is any indication, Spider-Man will do just fine.

In an interview with io9, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed the existence of a yet unnamed sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. Not only that, but our favorite webslinger will leave (at least temporarily) his home in New York City for a sequel abroad in London, and possibly other parts of Europe.

“We start filming early July,” Feige said. “We film in London. We shot first film in Atlanta. And we shoot a lot of films in London but there’s another reason we’re shooting in London which is, yes, Spidey, of course, will spend some time in New York, but he’ll spend some time in other parts of the globe.”

Information on Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is kept close to the chest, but Peter Parker's journey abroad is probably linked to the events of Infinity War. We do know that Jon Watts will return to direct the next Spider-Man film, and Spider-Man:Homecoming writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers will be back to write the script. Tom Holland will be back to play the titular role of Spider-Man as well.

The untitled film is scheduled to hit theaters on July 5, 2019.
