Terminator: Dark Fate's premiere gets canceled due to LA wild fire

Hopefully, everyone is safe

Terminator: Dark Fate was set to premiere in LA tonight, but a freak brush fire that sparked earlier this morning has caused Paramount Pictures to cancel the event. At some point in the night, a fire sparked along the 405 Freeway near the Getty Center in Los Angeles, leading to the evacuation of over 10,000 homes (including that of Arnold Schwarzenegger, star in Dark Fate). As such, it's not exactly in good taste to be hosting an event celebrating a cheesy blockbuster.

"In light of the ongoing, active fires being battled in the area," a Paramount spokesperson said in a statement, "Paramount Pictures and Skydance have canceled tonight's Los Angeles premiere of 'Terminator: Dark Fate.' We will be donating food intended for the after-party to the American Red Cross, which is serving those affected by the fires."

As of writing, more than 500 acres of land have been burned. On his Twitter account, Schwarzenegger thanked the LAFD and wrote, "If you are in an evacuation zone, don't screw around. Get out. Right now I am grateful for the best firefighters in the world, the true action heroes who charge into the danger to protect their fellow Californians."

Hopefully, anyone affected will be able to quickly get back on their feet.
