The Crow remake killed with Jason Momoa and Cory Harden exiting

Sony was about to exit, as well

Just five weeks before filming, the most important players have fled the remake of The Crow. Both Jason Momoa, who was going to be the titular Gothic hunk, and director Cory Hardy have formally withdrawn from the film. Financial and creative differences with the rights holder have been cited as the reasons for the departure.

Even Sony looked like it was getting cold feet. They were going to be the worldwide distributor for the film but had never closed the deal. They're poised to exit, now.

All in all, I don't know if too many people are going to mourn this one, who aren't already smoking and decrying the injustices that rule their lives. Also, Momoa as a really beefy Goth seemed so odd to me. I mean, that would be like Arnold Schwarzenegger playing Dracula (which, yeah, I would watch). These people are supposed to be lithe. Maybe Momoa could have single-handedly brought weight-lifting culture into the Goth community. We'll never know, now.

The Crow was going to release October 11, 2019, but it won't now, so don't mark your calendars.
