The final trailer for The Witcher goes for the vistas

Large-scale conflict ahoy!

What might have once seemed like a distant thought, a big-budget television adaptation of the beloved literary and gaming franchise, is now mere days away. Celebrate with a trailer?

The Witcher sees Henry Cavill taking the role as the titular mutant monster killer, Geralt of Rivia. But, y'know, man is the real monster, am I right? Caught up amidst the political strife of warring nations, the solitary hunter's life becomes an ever-convoluted game of thrones and intrigue. Not to mention balancing work with romancing a volatile sorceress.

Anya Chalotra co-stars as Yennefer of Vengerberg, the witcher's long-time flame. Freya Allan fills the role of Ciri, Geralt's adopted daughter and protege of sorts.

Netflix's production certainly looks the part, with sweeping planes and beautiful sets and costumes, and the special effects look top notch.Whether fans are sated is to be determined, but there's not long to wait now.

The Witcher's first season of eight episodes will be made available to binge for the holidays on Netflix starting December 20th.
