The Golden Globe Awards have their nominees

0

All year I’ve been wondering if the stuck-up world of award givers would actually recognize Mad Max: Fury Road as one of the best movies of the year or ignore it because “action.” As the early critics awards have shown it is not being ignored, but that doesn’t always translate to respect from the big boys. Now we have confirmation with the release of the Golden Globe nominations that Mad Max is getting its due respect.

It wasn’t the most nominated film, that honor went to the fantastic Carol. Not too many other surprises in the big boys, though you wonder if . I actually didn’t think Will Smith would squeak in, but his performance in Concussion is momentous. The biggest snub is probably Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight getting almost no big nominations aside from screenplay, but I can’t think of a single film I’d remove to put it in. Looks like The Revenant may turn out to be the best western of the year. Head below to check out the full list.
