The inevitable John Wick 4 has been confirmed

If you've seen the end of John Wick: Chapter 3 -- Parabellum then you know that it wasn't really the end. In fact, I'd argue the film was much akin to Infinity War in that it set up the greater conflict to come and felt more like the middle of a longer movie than the conclusion. Even if this wasn't the case, a sequel was in the cards. The John Wick films have been very strong money makers for Lionsgate and I'm honestly not even sure why this sequel wasn't greenlit before the third one even opened. Did they actually think it would flop that hard?

The films, which are made on a relatively small budget and use a lot of physical effects, don't need that much time to turn around so we won't have to wait too long for the sequel. Lionsgate announced, via its text messaging marketing stunt(?), that it will land on May 21, 2021, a strong show of confidence in the franchise as that's prime start-of-summer real estate space. At this point, however, its other blockbusters that have to fear going up against Mr. Wick. He's proven that despite the R-rating he can pull in the crowds and I wouldn't be surprised to see folks avoiding opening the same weekend like they would a Marvel film.

There's no plot details or really anything else, but we can hazard a safe guess that Keanu Reeves will return to take on the High Table with the help of Laurence Fishburne and guns (lots of guns). Also, heads shots. There will probably be some head shots.
