Tomb Raider set photos offer first look at Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft

Looks promising

It's taken a long while, but the Tomb Raider movie reboot is officially underway, with Oscar-winning actress Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft and Norwegian director Roar Uthaug at the helm. There's also Walton Goggins on board as the villainous Father Mathias Vogel; since this is based on 2013 video game reboot I still haven't played and not the early Tomb Raider games from the 1990s, I will assume Vogel is not a giant monstrous torso or a dragon.

Production for the new Tomb Raider started on January 23, 2017. We now have a first look at Vikander as Lara Croft thanks to some recent set photos. You can check out a sampling of the set photos in the gallery. For additional pics, you can head over to The Daily Mail.

The Tomb Raider reboot will be out some time in 2018. What do you think of these set photos? Let us know in the comments.
