Trailer: Carrie

Here is the first teaser/trailer for Kimberly Pierce's remake of Carrie. It's pretty much how Matt described it in his Carrie panel recap for the New York Comic Con.

There's something promising about the imagery here, especially the scope of destruction. The gossipy collection of voices is also pretty cool. The fact that Pierce used roughly 1,000 gallons of blood, is hewing closer to the Stephen King novel than the Brian De Palma film, and is proudly shooting for an R rating means this movie will probably get pretty damn mean. Sort of like high school.

Carrie will hit theaters March 15, 2013. Look for Matt's New York Comic Con interview with Pierce, Julianne Moore, and Chloe Moretz later this week.
