Trailer for Netflix's Beasts of No Nation, starring Idris Elba and directed by Cary Fukunaga

Beautiful, terrible, and intense

Beasts of No Nation premiered this week at the Venice International Film Festival, and the early reviews have been extremely positive, earning high praise for stars Idris Elba and newcomer Abraham Attah as well as director Cary Fukunaga (True Detective).

A trailer for the film was just released today, and it looks both intense and phenomenal. Check it out below.

Yeah. For real.

Adapted from the 2005 novel of the same name by Uzodinma Iweala, the film follows a boy named Agu (Attah) who becomes a child soldier in an unnamed West African country during a civil war. The Commandant (Elba) takes Agu under his wing and tries to mold him into a killer.

Beasts of No Nation will be released in limited theaters and on Netflix on October 16. The film will also screen at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Telluride Film Festival.
