By Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar is shaping up to be a fine film and a biopic reminiscent of Martin Scorsese’s The Aviator (for obvious reasons). Leonardo DiCaprio stars as the eponymous J. Edgar Hoover, the man who headed up the FBI while trying to run the country with his own crooked politics. Armie Hammer (The Social Network) joins DiCaprio as his second-in-command and rumored love interest, Clyde Tolson. From the looks of the trailer, I think this is a bit of a branching out for Eastwood as most of his movies feel cramped and slow-paced, whereas this film looks to be a marriage between his style and modern film-making. Hopefully this one turns out to be a bold film with something remarkable to say.
