Two new kick ass women join Star Wars: Ep. VII cast

The announced cast for Star Wars: Episode VII might already be pretty big, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for more kick ass. This casting news adds that. Lupita Nyong’o (you may remember her from 12 Years a Slave) and Game of Thrones Gwendoline Christie have joined the cast. No news on who they will be playing, but if they don’t get to wield some light sabers I’m going to be disappointed.

An original complaint with the cast was a dearth of prominent women, but with these two casting announcements the cast is rounding out quite nicely. Hopefully they’re roles are more than just walkons or, even better, their characters will continue into the rest of the franchise.
