Watch a clip from Alejandro Jodorowsky's The Dance of Reality

Alejandro Jodorowsky is one of those directors people either love or don't understand. His classic surrealist films from the 1970s like The Holy Mountain are still taught in film studies courses. This year is the first time in over 20 years that Jodorowsky is releasing a new film, and his fans have been eagerly awaiting it.

To satiate your surrealist hunger, or if you want to see what all the fuss is about, check out the above clip from Jodorowsky's upcoming The Dance of Reality. The Dance of Reality is an autobiographical film, filmed in Jodorowsky's hometown in Chile, about his young surreal consciousness and navigating within the cosmic imaginary dance of what is real. The Dance of Reality will open in New York and Los Angeles on May 23rd, and then later will expand to more theaters nationwide.
