Martin Scorcese has been trying to bring Silence to the big screen since 1990. The film’s long road to production and release is almost over. The first trailer for Silence appeared at the end of November, and the film is coming out in 10 days in select cities.

Last week, a 23-minute video appeared online featuring the acclaimed filmmaker interviewed by Jesuit priest James J. Martin S.J. It’s a candid, philosophical, and personal conversation between two men of faith, and it’s worth taking a look if you’re a long-time fan of Scorsese’s work.

Exclusive: Martin Scorsese discusses his faith, his struggles, and "Silence."

Silence comes out on December 23rd.
