Wonder Woman movie loses director Michelle MacLaren

It's like two steps forward and two steps back for WB and DC. It's just a natural fact that DC's films are having quite a bit of trouble on the back end. It seemed fine at first with WB openly searching for a female director to take on its lead heroine film, Wonder Woman, and they eventually found a great TV director Michelle MacLaren, But somewhere along the line, someone pushed too far.

According to THR, MacLaren has left the film over "creative differences":

"Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together,” the studio said in a statement.

While we don't know any of the specifics of the split, or how it's going to affect the film's development as she's had a major hand in developing the film's script, or how it's going to affect the film's 2017 release, I'm guessing WB tightened its own noose on this one. This certainly sucks, and I hope WB hunts down another directress because that was the only real reason I was excited for the WW movie. There are far too many dudes running the superhero show right now, and any fresh perspective would've been welcome.
