Your Friends revival isn't happening

According to the co-creator

Everyone loves a reboot. Everyone loves a revival. There's no better way to sink into the cushy memory of the past than to experience something old - but made new again. In this modern age, it's increasingly probable, profitable and pawnable to mainstream audiences.

Well, if you're a big fan of Friends, NBC's hit classic following a group of buddies in New York City guess what? We've got a revi- oh, wait. Nope. Sorry guys, there's been a mistake. There isn't going to be any Friends revival.

At a recent comedy showrunners panel hosted by TheWrap, Friends co-creator David Kane shot down hopes of any future Friends revival. When asked about the topic, Kane was quite clear about his intentions.

"Never happening. Never. We did it! It’s done. That’s why you don’t want to see more of it, because it’s all a happy ending," Crane said.

Friends has been off the air for 14 years, but that hasn't stopped fans from wanting more of their favorite sitcom. In recent years, Friends has become popular once again with it's debut on Netflix, allowing old fans to experience the show again and, possibly of more importance, introducing a new generation of fans to the show.

However, Kane firmly stated that it isn't going to happen, and he isn't alone. Jennifer Aniston has stated that she doesn't think the show could work in the modern era of the internet and cellphones. Matthew Perry is also opposed to a reunion, as are some NBC executives.

Friends was a smash hit, but also launched many of it's star's careers. It's likely that most of them simply don't have the time or the inclination to return to their old stomping grounds for a new series. After 14 years, who can blame them?
