From the makers of Despicable Me…the Energizer bunny?

Banking on the holiday spirit building around Thanksgiving and Christmas, Universal has released a teaser trailer for Hop, a live-action/animated picture centred on the Easter Bunny. Russel Brand provides the voice for the animated critter, who is accidentally run over and taken in by James Marsden’s slacker, Fred — the man now responsible for saving Chocolate Holiday #2 (or Non-discriminating Chocolate Holiday #1, for those lacking a Valentine).

Does the teaser trailer tell us any of this? No.

I’m pretty sure the only thing that Brand’s Bunny pounding on the drums can mean, is that the mythical creature will turn out to be as much of a nuisance to Fred as the bunnies who ate your grandmother’s marigolds. You know, from your grandmother’s point of view. I also predict a few gags surrounding the misleadingly inoffensive appearance of bunny poop. The charming Kaley Cuoco (Big Bang Theory) and Elizabeth Perkins (Weeds) round out the cast for this April 2011 release.
