The Super poster is, well, super

To say that I’m very excited for Super is like saying Nicolas Cage is very excited for his next warm meal: an understatement.

James Gunn’s Slither is possibly one of my favorite films of all time, Rainn Wilson has a permanent spot in my heart for all his years of service as the mustard-clad Dwight K. Schrute, and Ellen Page makes me feel warm in my special place. These three things, along with music by Tyler Bates, a drug-dealing Kevin Bacon, and the ultra-violent clips that have been released so far, have built a perfect storm of anticipation. The new theatrical poster is just the latest that has me counting the days ’til April 1st.

In case you still haven’t heard the synopsis, here you go:

“After his wife Sarah (Tyler) hooks up with a smooth-talking drug dealer named Jacques (Kevin Bacon), Frank (Wilson) transforms himself into superhero “The Crimson Bolt”. Then with the help of a trusty wrench, Frank wages a one man war on crime. Libby (Page), a local comic book store employee, transforms herself into a superheroine named “Boltie” and becomes Frank’s sidekick. The two then team up to take Jacques down.”

Gunn’s low-budget masterpiece is only a month away so get pumped. The poster in its hilarious entirety is available after the jump.
