By The funny and gorgeous Emma Stone is more commonly associated with comedy than drama because, well, she’s funny and gorgeous, but Variety magazine is reporting that she’s in negotiations for crime actioner The Gangster Squad, which starts shooting in September.
Stone would be joining Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Giovanni Ribsi and Josh Brolin in the true story of a special LAPD team assigned to take down the wave of organised crime which flooded Los Angeles in the Forties. Her role would be that of Jean, who is caught up in a love triangle between mobster Mickey Cohen (Penn) and the leader of the eponymous cop squad, to be played by Gosling and going by the name Jerry Wooters. Yes, Jerry Wooters. Try saying that as quickly as possible: Jerrywooters. It’ll make your day. The only thing better would be hearing Emma Stone saying it and seeing if she can keep a straight face. Wooters.
